The site boasts twin rock-cut structures, which was completed in 1264 BC to glorify the pharaoh’s military efficiency, especially during the Kadesh Battle.

The main temple is decorated by four colossal sculptures of Ramesses II and the other smaller building is dedicated to the king’s wife, Queen Nefertari.

Valley of the Kings:

Valley of the Kings is an extensive ancient burial site, established during the New Kingdom (from 16th to 11th centuries BC).

This stunning site acted as the final resting royal place for Tutankhamun and Ramesses II and other more than 60 kings of Egypt.

The royal tombs of the valley were richly decorated by complicated hieroglyphs and colorful paintings, reflecting an impressive glimpse into the ancient Egyptian funerary practices and beliefs.

 

Colossi of Memnon:

Colossi of Memnon are two statues of King Amenhotep III, made of quartzite. Each one of these massive creation reaches over 18 meters tall, and they act as the guardians of Amenhotep III's Mortuary Temple. These marvelous statues are iconic symbols of ancient Egyptian art and architecture.
