Day 1: El Gouna to Luxor – Luxor Trip – Luxor to Aswan
We will transport you from your hotel in El Gouna to Luxor touristic attractions to join your tour guide and visit:
Karnak Temple:
Karnak Temple contains the Great Hypostyle Hall which is one of the most impressive architectural wonders of the ancient world. The hall contains 134 massive columns, some of which are over 70 feet tall, and is ornamented with intricate carvings and hieroglyphics that depict scenes from ancient Egyptian mythology. The hall was constructed during the reign of Seti I and was completed by his son, Ramses II.
The Valley of the Kings:
Ancient Egyptians gave great importance to their burial places. Looking like a boring, rocky gorge from the outside, the Valley of the Pharaohs hides its gold and magic underneath! Upon their arrival, visitors are impressed with its awe-inspiring inscriptions and astonishing chambers. Be one of them, and let’s tour the Valley of the Kings!
Queen Hatshepsut Temple:
Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut is an ancient temple in the Valley of the Kings near Luxor, Egypt. It was erected by the Pharaoh Hatshepsut, who ruled from 1479 to 1458 BC. The temple is considered one of the most stunning monuments of ancient Egypt, and it has been a source of fascination for archaeologists and tourists alike.
Colossi of Memnon:
Colossi of Memnon are two large, monumental stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III (1386-1353 BC) from the 18th Dynasty of ancient Egypt. They represent the seated king on a throne decorated with imagery of his mother, his wife, the god Hapy, and other symbolic engravings. They are made of quartzite stones, which were carved at El-Gabal El-Ahmar since 1350 B.C. They served as guardians for Amenhotep’s mortuary complex. This large complex was destroyed and turned out to be ruins because of the earthquakes and floods in Egypt.
You will proceed to a delightful restaurant to enjoy lunch and you will board 1st class train to Aswan and check into 5-Stars hotel in Aswan.
Day 2: Aswan Highlights – Aswan to El Gouna
You will escort your Egyptologist to visit the best of Aswan:
Philae Temple:
The name Philae comes from the ancient Egyptian word “Pilak,” which means “the remote place.” Philae was the southernmost place in Egypt and the last outpost of the 4000-year-old ancient Egyptian religion. During the Greco-Roman period, Philae was a sacred island, and an important cult center dedicated to Isis.
The Unfinished Obelisk:
The Unfinished Obelisk is estimated to date back to the New Kingdom period of ancient Egypt, specifically the 18th dynasty, which is approximately between 1549 and 1292 BCE. This makes the monument over 3,000 years old. However, it is important to note that the Unfinished Obelisk was never completed or erected, so it remains in its unfinished state, offering a unique glimpse into the ancient Egyptian stone-cutting techniques and craftsmanship.
The High Dam:
One of the beauties of the Nile is the Aswan High Dam and the artificial lake that it generates: Lake Nasser. Although the dam has caused a not inconsiderable environmental impact, the view, especially from above, is breathtaking. Strongly desired by Nasser to solve the problem of drought, Egypt at the time was one of the driest countries in the world, it made it possible to cultivate miles and miles of desert.
