Giza Pyramids Complex:

The Giza Pyramids Complex, next to Cairo, houses three major pyramids: the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure. This magical complex was built about 4,500 years ago during the Fourth Dynasty, These pyramids served as royal grand tombs for pharaohs.

The site also includes the Great Sphinx, a huge limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh. Together, these structures present the remarkable achievements of ancient Egyptian engineering and their beliefs in the afterlife.

The Great Pyramid:

The Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or Cheops, is the earliest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza Pyramids Complex. This dazzling structure was built around 2560 BC during the reign of Pharaoh Khufu, and it originally stood at about 146.6 meters tall.

The pyramid was constructed from nearly 2.3 million stone blocks, each weighing several tons, it is an astounding feat of ancient engineering. As the last surviving wonder of the ancient world, the Great Pyramid still captivates historians and visitors with its architectural precision and historical significance.

The Great Sphinx:

The Great Sphinx on the Giza Plateau near the Great Pyramids is an iconic limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a human, and it is thought to represent Pharaoh Khafre. This mythical statue was carved directly from the bedrock around 2500 BC.

The Sphinx measures about 73 meters in length and 20 meters in height, making it one of the largest and oldest statues in the world. The purpose of the Great Sphinx and the mystery surrounding its missing nose have long intrigued archaeologists and historians. The Great Sphinx represents the strength and wisdom of ancient Egyptian civilization.

The Valley Temple:

The Valley Temple is an attractive archaeological structure in Egypt on the Giza Plateau near the Pyramids. This marvelous temple was constructed during the Old Kingdom, specifically during the reign of Pharaoh Khafre.

This temple is a well-preserved example of ancient Egyptian architecture which was built from massive limestone blocks and buried for many years beneath the sands of the desert.

The temple was likely used for several purposes such as the purification of the king's body before burial and as a royal place for rituals and offerings to commemorate the deceased pharaoh.

Grand Egyptian Museum:

The Grand Egyptian Museum, or the Giza Museum, is an archaeological museum under construction in Giza, about 2 kilometres from the Giza pyramid complex. The Museum will house over 100,000 antiquities from ancient Egyptian civilization.

It will house the complete Tutankhamun collection, and many pieces will be shown for the first time. With 81,000 m² of floor space, it will be the world's most massive archeological museum. It is being founded as part of a new major plan for the Giza Plateau, known as "Giza 2030".

You will head to a local restaurant to enjoy lunch, and then move to continue to:
