Day Tour to Valley of the Queens and Habu Temple

Your Valley of the Queens and Habu Day Trip begins as you meet your expert Egyptologist guide, who will lead you across Luxor’s iconic West Bank to explore its most remarkable archaeological treasures.

Habu Temple:

In ancient Egypt, Medinet Habu was known as Djanet, believed to be the place where Amun first appeared. Queen Hatshepsut and King Tuthmosis III built a temple to Amun here, and later Ramses III constructed his grand mortuary temple on the same sacred site. Its walls and reliefs remain among the finest in Thebes.

Valley of the Queens:

Located on the southern side of the Theban cliffs, the Valley of the Queens contains over 75 tombs belonging to queens, princesses, and royal children of the 19th and 20th dynasties. The most famous is the exquisite Tomb of Nefertari, reopened to the public in 2016, alongside other tombs such as those of Titi, Khaemwaset, and Amunherkhepshef.

Enjoy lunch at a beautiful Nile River view restaurant before continuing your adventure into Luxor’s historic landscapes.

Ramesseum Temple:

The Ramesseum served as the mortuary temple of Ramses II. Although less well-preserved than his temples at Karnak and Abu Simbel, the site still displays colossal statues, monumental pillars, and reliefs that depict the king’s military achievements and divine connections.

Deir El Medina:

Deir El-Medina was home to the artisans who carved and decorated the royal tombs in both the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens. This remarkably well-preserved village offers an intimate glimpse into the daily life of ancient craftsmen.

At the end of your Day Trip to Valley of the Queens and Habu, you will return comfortably to your Luxor hotel.
