Karnak Temple:
The temple of Karnak was known as "Ipet-isu" or “most select of places” by the ancient Egyptians. It is a compound of temples constructed over 2,000 years and dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu.
This derelict place is still capable of overshadowing many wonders of the modern world, and in its day must have been awe-inspiring. For the uneducated ancient Egyptian population, this could only have been the place of the gods.
Karnak is the largest religious structure ever built, spanning 200 acres. Its main temple is so massive it could fit St. Peter’s, Milan, and Notre Dame inside.
Luxor Temple:
Luxor Temple in Thebes is one of the most extraordinary. Dating back to 1392 BC, the temple was built on the east bank of the Nile River and is dedicated to the deities Mut, Khonsu, and Amun.
Construction of Luxor Temple began under Pharaoh Amenhotep III and was completed by Tutankhamun. Located on the east bank of the Nile, it was dedicated to the Theban triad: Amun, Mut, and Khonsu.
The temple features the Avenue of the Sphinxes, First Pylon, Roman Camp, an active mosque, and courts of Ramses II and Amenhotep III. Its mudbrick walls symbolized the divide between the human world and the gods.
Enjoy lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant, then check into a 5-star hotel in Luxor for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Continue to Luxor – Back to Cairo
After breakfast and checkout, continue your 2-day Luxor Tour from Cairo by plane to visit:
Colossi of Memnon:
The two faceless Colossi of Memnon, originally representing Pharaoh Amenhotep III, rising majestically about 18m from the plain, are the first monuments tourists see when they visit the west bank.
These magnificent colossi, each carved from a single block of stone and weighing about 1000 tons, sat at the eastern entrance to the funerary temple of Amenhotep III, the largest on the west bank. Egyptologists are currently excavating the temple, and their discoveries can be seen behind the colossi.
Valley of the Kings:
Valley of the Kings, long narrow defile just west of the Nile River in Upper Egypt. It was part of the ancient city of Thebes and was the burial site of almost all the kings (pharaohs) of the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties, from Thutmose I to Ramses X.
Located in the hills behind Deir Al-Bahari, the 62 known tombs exhibit variety both in plan and in decoration. In 1979, UNESCO designated the valley part of the World Heritage site.
Queen Hatshepsut Temple:
The extraordinary, beautiful Hatshepsut temple is also known as Djeser-Djeseru and was built for the Eighteenth Dynasty Pharaoh Queen Hatshepsut. It is one of the incomparable temples of ancient Egypt that is considered to be the greatest ancient Egyptian achievements.
It is dedicated to Hatshepsut and Amun. Queen Hatshepsut was always aware of the ways to elevate her public image and immortalize her name, this Mortuary temple achieved both ends.
You will have lunch at a local restaurant before your driver transfers you to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo, where you'll be driven to your hotel.
