Prepare yourself for a private ride to Cairo Airport in the morning to catch your flight to Aswan, where you will join your guide and visit:

Philae Temple:

Built during the reign of Ptolemy II (Egypt’s Greco-Roman Period), the Temple of Isis at Philae is dedicated to Isis, Osiris, and Horus.

The temple walls contain scenes from Egyptian mythology of Isis bringing Osiris back to life, giving birth to Horus, and mummifying Osiris after his death. From early times the island was sacred to the goddess Isis.

The temple was in danger of being submerged forever with the construction of the new Aswan dam (1960-1970), which flooded the area. Fortunately, the Egyptian government and UNESCO worked together to pump the area dry and relocate the entire temple, stone by stone (50,000 stones!), to a nearby island called Agilka, where it stands today.

The Unfinished Obelisk:

The Unfinished Obelisk in the high-quality granite quarries in South of Aswan was carved by Queen Hatshepsut. Queen Hatshepsut aimed for this obelisk to be stood in Karnak Temple as the largest obelisk ever carved, but her target hadn't been achieved because of the joints appeared along the obelisk during carving it.

The obelisk was left in the quarries where it was being carved. This Unfinished Obelisk provides precious information about the techniques, methods, and ways of stone-cutting in ancient Egypt.

The High Dam:

High Dam is considered the greatest and largest engineering project of the twentieth century from an architectural and engineering point of view, superior to other giant global projects. The High Dam was built to protect Egypt from the high floods that had occurred in Egypt and drowning large areas in it, and to conserve water that was wasted in the Mediterranean.

The construction of the High Dam was the first continuous storage project at the level of the basin countries to be implemented within the Egyptian borders.

Karnak Temple:

The Karnak Temple Complex is the most massive, most impressive and most important ancient religious center in the world. Establishing this temple started in 1970 BC, during the reign of King Seti I who was the father of King Ramses II.

Karnak Temple was dedicated to Amun, his wife Mut, and his son Khonsu. Karnak Temple is connected to Luxor Temple by the Avenue of the Sphinxes which represents the power of ancient Egyptian architecture and the cleverest craftsmen and engineers ever.

Valley of the Kings:

Once called the Great Necropolis of Millions of Years of Pharaoh, or the Place of Truth, the Valley of the Kings has 63 magnificent royal tombs from the New Kingdom period, all very different from each other.

The West Bank had been the site of royal burials from the First Intermediate Period onwards. At least three 11th-dynasty rulers built their tombs near the modern village of Tarif, northeast of the Valley of the Kings. The 18th-dynasty pharaohs, however, chose the isolated valley dominated by the pyramid shaped mountain peak of Al-Qurn (The Horn).

The secluded site enclosed by steep cliffs was easy to guard and appears to be the site of the setting sun, associated with the afterlife by ancient Egyptians.

Queen Hatshepsut Temple:

Queen Hatshepsut Temple in Luxor is seen as the best example of the new kingdom's classical architecture. Queen Hatshepsut erected this temple in 1479 BC to honor God Amun in addition to prove her strength and make her name still known forever.

This magnificent temple serves as a testament to the great ancient Egyptian architecture and civilization.

Colossi of Memnon:

They are two massive statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III which were carved in 1350BC to serve as a massive piece of art. There are several artistic hieroglyphs and paintings on their sides showing the King's family, heritage, and the Nile God Hapi. They are standing in front of the ruins of the mortuary temple of Pharaoh Amenhotep III and acting as guardians of it.

The Colossi of Memnon gained their fame due to the phenomenon of emitting sound like music at dawn, it's thought that they are singing but the scientific explanation is the change of temperature making rapture in stones which makes this sound.

After lunch at a restaurant, you will be escorted to the airport to catch the flight to Cairo and be dropped off at your hotel.
