After the cruise, return to your hotel for a relaxing overnight stay in Cairo.
Meals: Dinner.
Day 2: The Marvels of Pyramids - Fly to Luxor
After enjoying a delicious breakfast at your hotel, you’ll meet your local Egyptologist guide and begin the day’s exploration of Ancient Egypt’s majestic wonders, starting with the iconic Giza Pyramids Complex.
Giza Pyramids Complex:
This awe-inspiring site, dating back over 4,500 years to Egypt’s Old Kingdom (around 2600 BC), is one of the most iconic archaeological wonders ever created. The complex includes three massive pyramids, the Great Sphinx, and other structures that showcase the brilliance of ancient Egyptian engineering.
The Great Pyramid of Cheops:
Constructed in 2570 BC during the 4th dynasty, the Great Pyramid was built as the final resting place of King Khufu. Designed by his vizier Hemiunu, it stood at 146.6 meters (481 ft), making it the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years. Inside are the King’s Chamber, Queen’s Chamber, and the Grand Gallery, masterpieces of ancient design and precision.
The Great Sphinx:
Known as "Horus of the Horizon," the Great Sphinx is a colossal statue with the body of a lion and the face believed to be that of Pharaoh Khafre (2558–2532 BC). Between its paws lies the Dream Stele of Thutmose IV (1397–1388 BC), adding myth and mystery to this monumental guardian of the Giza Plateau.
The Valley Temple:
Built during the reign of King Khafre, this well-preserved funerary temple was used for purification and mummification rituals. It played a key role in the "Opening of the Mouth" ceremony, believed to restore a deceased pharaoh’s senses in the afterlife.
The Grand Egyptian Museum:
Next, visit the Grand Egyptian Museum, a monumental cultural project showcasing 5,000 years of Egyptian innovation and artistry. Discover breathtaking exhibits like the Hanging Obelisk, the colossal statue of Ramses II, the 10 Statues of Senusert, the Grand Staircase, and the Royal Regalia. Optional VIP access offers entry to exclusive artifacts.
Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant in Cairo before continuing to the city’s most historic institution:
The Egyptian Museum:
Located in Tahrir Square, the Egyptian Museum holds one of the world’s richest collections of ancient artifacts, over 120,000 items spanning thousands of years. Marvel at treasures from the Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms, including the famed golden mask of Tutankhamun.
After the tour, you’ll be transferred to Cairo Airport for your domestic flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, meet your guide and check in at your 5-star hotel.
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch.
Day 3: The Masterpieces of Luxor + Travel Back to Cairo
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel, then continue your unforgettable 4 Days Cairo and Luxor Easter Tour by exploring the ancient wonders of Luxor, often referred to as the world’s greatest open-air museum. Join your guide for a journey through Egypt’s most iconic historical sites.
Valley of the Kings:
Located in the Theban Necropolis, the Valley of the Kings is home to 63 royal tombs belonging to powerful pharaohs and nobles of the New Kingdom (1570–1050 BC). This sacred burial ground reveals extraordinary insights into ancient Egyptian religion, funerary rituals, and beliefs about the afterlife.
Queen Hatshepsut Temple:
The majestic Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (r. 1479–1458 BC) is one of the finest examples of ancient Egyptian architecture. Carved into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, this temple honors Hatshepsut’s legacy, glorifies the god Amun, and symbolizes the eternal cycle of life and kingship in ancient Egypt.
Colossi of Memnon:
Visit the impressive twin statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, built around 1350 BC. These 18-meter-tall (60 feet) seated quartzite figures once guarded the entrance to his mortuary temple. Their inscriptions and legends—including the myth of the "singing statues"—add a layer of mystery to their historical grandeur.
Enjoy lunch served on a tranquil island in the Nile, complete with a relaxing boat ride offering scenic views of Luxor from the water.
Karnak Temple:
End your Luxor visit at the sprawling Karnak Temple, one of the most sacred religious complexes in ancient Egypt. Built over a period of 2,000 years (1971 BC to 30 AD), Karnak was the spiritual heart of Thebes and a major place of worship for the Theban Triad: Amun-Ra, Mut, and Khonsu. Marvel at the colossal Hypostyle Hall and the Avenue of Sphinxes—monumental achievements of ancient Egyptian art and architecture.
After your tour, you will be transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, check in at your 5-star hotel and rest for the final day of your Easter adventure.
