Day 1: Cairo to Aswan - Abu Simbel Temple
Abu Simbel Temples:
Built on the west bank of the Nile River, between the first and second cataracts of the Nile. It includes two temples, carved into the mountain cliffs, built by Pharaoh Ramses II, also known as Ramses the Great.
The larger of the two temples contains four colossal statues of a seated Ramses II at its entrance, each about 21 meters tall.
The entranceway to the temple was built in such a way that on two days of the year, October 22 and February 22, the light would shine into the inner sanctuary and light up three statues seated on a bench, including one of the pharaohs.
It’s been hypothesized that the sun shining inside on these dates may commemorate his coronation and birth. In addition to the main temple, Abu Simbel has a second, smaller, temple that was probably built for Queen Nefertari.
Its front includes two statues of the queen and four of the pharaohs, each about 10 meters in height. Each is set between buttresses carved with hieroglyphs.

Karnak Temple:
Karnak temple is located in Karnak, Luxor Governorate, south of Egypt, on the east side of the Nile Riverbank. The Karnak Temple Complex consists of several temples, chapels, and other buildings in the form of a village, and it is for that reason that the name Karnak was given to this complex as in Arabic Karnak means ‘fortified village’.
The Karnak Temple was built between 2055 BC and around 100 AD. It was built as a cult temple and was dedicated to the gods Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Being the largest building for religious purposes ever to be constructed, the Karnak Temple was known as “most select of places” by ancient Egyptians.
After that, you will enjoy an appetizing in a good restaurant, then you head out to allure:
Queen Hatshepsut Temple:
The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut in the cliffs of Deir El-Bahari on the west bank of the Nile in Luxor is a magnificent temple established by Queen Hatshepsut who was one of the few females who ruled Egypt and dedicated to God Amun.
This magical temple was constructed during the 15th century BC and designed to commemorate the Queen's divine relation and make her reign very strong. This is a must-visit destination for its impressive structure and amazing reliefs and statues.
Valley of the Kings:
The Valley of the Kings near Luxor on the west bank of the Nile is a well-known ancient royal burial site established during the New Kingdom (from 16th to 11th centuries BC).
This stunning site acted as the final resting royal place for several Pharaohs and Kings such as Tutankhamun and Ramses II. The royal tombs of the valley were richly decorated with complicated hieroglyphs and colorful paintings leaving a perfect impression about the ancient Egyptian funerary practices and beliefs.
Colossi of Memnon:
The Colossi of Memnon are two statues of King Amenhotep III made of quartzite on the west bank of the Nile near Luxor. Each one of these huge statues reaches over 18 meters tall, and they act as the guardians of Amenhotep III's Mortuary Temple.
They gained their national fame due to the sound or music emitted from them which reflects the divine power of Amenhotep III. These marvelous statues are an iconic indication of ancient Egyptian creative art and architecture.
