Trip to Tel El Amarna & Beni Hassan From Cairo.

Our professional tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo/Giza by A/C vehicle to proceed to Minya Governorate, and visit:

Tel El Amarna:

Tel El Amarna, also known as Akhetaton or Ajenaton, was the capital of Ancient Egypt during the mid-14th century BC (18th Dynasty, New Kingdom) for a brief but transformative era. Built by the pharaoh Akhenaten, this mysterious city is now an open-air archaeological park that attracts Egyptologists, Egyptophiles, and tourists alike.

The current name of the area where the ruins of Akhetaton are located. It’s the name used most often today, although the ancient Egyptians never called the city by this name. The name probably refers to the Bedouin tribe of Beni Amran, who settled here later.

Beni Hassan Tombs:

The tombs of Beni Hassan are located in the desert near El Minya, Egypt. The site encloses a collection of rock-cut tombs from the Middle Kingdom period, which dates back to between 2055 and 1650 BC and is ornamented with scenes from everyday life in ancient Egypt.

The tombs were built for priests, officials, and nobles who lived during this period. They were buried along with their belongings and other items that they would need in the afterlife. The walls of the tombs have detailed paintings and hieroglyphics that narrate stories about life during this period.

A fabulous lunch is served at a local restaurant in El Minya, then you will get back to Cairo to conclude your Tel El Amarna & Beni Hassan Day Trip
