Qaitbay Citadel:

The Qaitbay Citadel in Alexandria was established in 1477 by Sultan Al-Ashraf Sayf al-Din Qaitbay. This fortress was built on the same site as the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

The citadel acted as a defensive bastion against naval invasions. The fortress is a fine example of medieval Islamic military architecture and is still a popular historical and tourist destination, providing stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Pompey's Pillar:

Pompey’s Pillar is one of the few ruins of the ancient Roman complex known as Serapeum. This temple was created for the worship of the god Serapis and was built during the rule of Ptolemy I at the end of the third century BC. The historical site of Pompey’s Pillar consists of a large garden on a hill with great archaeological wealth.

The most outstanding monument is the pillar itself. It was made of a piece of red granite and is 20.75 meters high and 2.70 meters wide at its base. The total height of the Pillar, including the base and the crown, is 27 meters.

You’ll enjoy your appetizing lunch in a seafood restaurant, then you move to discover:

Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa:

The Catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa in Alexandria are a historical archaeological site dating back to the 2nd century AD. These catacombs, which are considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Middle Ages, present a unique mix of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman cultural factors.

This site was discovered accidentally in 1900, the catacombs have complicated engravings, statues, and a central tomb. They acted as a burial site for a wealthy family and represent the syncretic religious practices of the time. Today, the catacombs are a significant tourist destination, providing insights into ancient funerary rituals.

Alexandria Library:

The Alexandria Library, or the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, is a modern library and cultural center in Alexandria. This library was inaugurated in 2002 to commemorate the ancient Library of Alexandria, which was one of the largest and most significant libraries of the ancient world.

The new library shows a striking design with a massive, tilted disc-shaped structure and includes millions of books, several specialized libraries, museums, and a planetarium. The library acts as a major center for knowledge, culture, and education in the region, continuing the legacy of its ancient predecessor.

Start your day with a delightful breakfast at your hotel and you then join your Egyptologist to witness:

Al Alamein Military Museum:

Al Alamein Military Museum was established in 1956, when President Gamal Abd Elnasser ordered its establishment to rejuvenate Egypt's fundamental role in one of the most important battles of World War II, Al-Alamein battle, which broke out between the allies and the Axis Powers in October 1942.

The museum has been developed, renovated, and maintained, and was also renewed on the 50th anniversary of Al Alamein battle on the 21st of October 1992. The Museum achieves to document Al Alamein battle by presenting a group of weapons, armors, and models which represent Al Alamein battles and the contributing forces.

The Commonwealth Cemetery:

The Commonwealth Cemetery is nestled on the Mediterranean coast of Egypt, and it is considered an effective commemoration of the soldiers who lost their lives during World War II's pivotal North African battles.

We'll immerse ourselves in the history of the Al Alamein War Cemetery, discuss its significance and importance, and provide tips on making the most of your visit to this remarkable memorial.
