Philae Temple:

Set on Agilkia Island, Philae Temple is one of Aswan’s most beautiful ancient sites. Dedicated mainly to the goddess Isis, the temple features scenes from the mythology of Isis, Osiris, and Horus, along with elegant colonnades, sanctuaries and detailed carvings.

The temple complex was originally located on Philae Island and was carefully relocated to nearby Agilkia Island during the UNESCO Nubia Campaign, protecting it from the rising waters caused by the construction of the Aswan High Dam.

The Unfinished Obelisk:

Continue to Aswan’s ancient granite quarries to see the Unfinished Obelisk, believed to have been commissioned during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut for Karnak Temple. Cracks that appeared in the stone caused the work to be abandoned, leaving a remarkable example of how ancient Egyptians cut and shaped massive granite monuments.

The High Dam:

Visit the Aswan High Dam, one of Egypt’s most important modern engineering projects. Built to control the Nile River's annual floods, store water, and support hydroelectric power generation, the dam also offers wide views over Lake Nasser and the surrounding desert landscape.

Walk through its grand courts, sanctuaries and towering columns, including the famous Great Hypostyle Hall. Karnak is also connected to Luxor Temple by the Avenue of Sphinxes, once used during ancient religious festivals.

Valley of the Kings:

Continue to the Valley of the Kings on Luxor’s West Bank, the royal burial ground of many New Kingdom pharaohs. Hidden among the desert hills, the valley contains beautifully decorated tombs that reveal ancient Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife.

Queen Hatshepsut Temple:

Visit the impressive Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Luxor’s finest examples of ancient Egyptian architecture. Built into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, the temple was constructed to honor the god Amun-Ra and commemorate one of Egypt’s most successful female pharaohs.

Its elegant terraces, colonnades and dramatic setting make it one of the most distinctive landmarks on Luxor’s West Bank.

Colossi of Memnon:

Stop for photos at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive seated statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that once stood at the entrance of his enormous mortuary temple. These iconic statues have watched over Luxor’s West Bank for more than 3,000 years.

After lunch at a local restaurant, transfer to Luxor Airport for your domestic flight back to Cairo. Upon arrival, our representative will meet you and transfer you privately to your hotel.
