Al Alamein Military Museum:

Al Alamein Military Museum is a complete presentation of the story of World War II in North Africa, including records of all the events. Even before entering the Museum proper, in the garden, there are massive army tanks and various larger weapons.

A visitor can watch this heavy equipment from World War II, go inside a tank or an army car, or even jump up and sit on top of a tank. The garden has about fifteen large pieces used by different forces in the Battle of Al Alamein.

Inside the museum, there are five halls, each particularized to one of the four countries involved in the war: Great Britain, Italy, Germany, and Egypt. The museum also encloses a mixed hall that houses items from the war.

The Commonwealth Cemetery:

The Commonwealth War Cemetery is a haunting place where more than 7240 tombstones stand in organized rows between beautifully tended desert plants.

Most of the Commonwealth soldiers who lie here died in the Battle of Al Alamein at the end of October 1942 and in the period immediately before that.

As you enter, a separate memorial commemorating the Australian contingent is to your right. The cemetery is about 1km east of Al Alamein's War Museum.

Afterwards, you will enjoy your lunch in a restaurant, then you return to your hotel in Cairo.
