Your journey begins with a morning transfer from your hotel in Hurghada to the airport. Board your flight to Cairo, where your private Egyptologist guide will meet you and accompany you throughout the day.
Giza Pyramids Complex:
Begin at the Giza Plateau, home to the three principal pyramids of the Old Kingdom: the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure.
These monumental structures were built as royal tombs and remain among the most recognizable achievements of ancient Egyptian architecture.
Great Pyramid of Khufu:
Explore the largest pyramid at Giza, built during the Fourth Dynasty for Pharaoh Khufu. It originally reached approximately 146.6 meters in height and was constructed from roughly 2.3 million limestone blocks.
The monument remained the tallest man-made structure in the world for thousands of years, reflecting the engineering capabilities of ancient Egypt.
Great Sphinx:
Continue to the Great Sphinx, carved from a single limestone formation on the Giza Plateau. The monument combines the body of a lion with a human head and is generally associated with Pharaoh Khafre.
It is traditionally dated to around 2500 BC, although questions surrounding its exact purpose and construction continue to attract scholarly discussion.
Valley Temple:
Visit the Valley Temple, part of Khafre’s funerary complex. Built from large limestone and granite blocks, the temple was used for purification and mummification rituals connected with the king’s burial.
Its location beside the Great Sphinx makes it an important part of the Giza archaeological landscape.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your Cairo sightseeing.
Grand Egyptian Museum:
Continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum near the Giza Plateau. The museum was designed to preserve and display a vast collection of Egyptian archaeological artifacts, including the treasures of Tutankhamun.
Its galleries provide visitors with a broader understanding of Egypt’s ancient civilization and its material culture.
Egyptian Museum in Tahrir:
Explore the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, one of the region’s most important collections of Pharaonic antiquities.
The museum opened in 1902 after a government design competition held between 1893 and 1895, and contains extensive collections covering different periods of ancient Egyptian history.
After completing your Cairo visits, transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Aswan.
Upon arrival, our team will escort you to your 5-star Nile cruise for check-in and your first night aboard.
Enjoy breakfast aboard the cruise before meeting your Egyptologist guide for a morning tour of Aswan.
Philae Temple:
Take a boat to Agilkia Island to visit Philae Temple, a major religious complex associated with Isis, Osiris, and Horus.
The temple complex was developed mainly during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods and was originally located on Philae Island. It was relocated to Agilkia Island as part of an international preservation project to protect it from the rising waters caused by the construction of the Aswan High Dam.
Unfinished Obelisk:
Continue to the granite quarries to see the Unfinished Obelisk. Believed to have been commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut, the enormous monument was abandoned after a crack appeared during its construction.
The site provides a direct look at how ancient Egyptian stoneworkers cut and shaped granite before transporting monumental blocks to their intended locations.
Aswan High Dam:
Visit the Aswan High Dam, one of Egypt’s major engineering projects of the 20th century. Construction was completed in 1970, creating Lake Nasser and providing greater control over the Nile’s annual flooding while contributing significantly to Egypt’s electricity generation.
Return to your cruise for lunch and begin sailing north toward Kom Ombo.
Spend the night aboard the cruise.
Wake up aboard the cruise as you continue your journey along the Nile.
Kom Ombo Temple:
Visit the unusual double temple at Kom Ombo, dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god associated with fertility and the Nile, and Horus the Elder, the falcon-headed god.
The existing temple dates mainly to the Ptolemaic period, with later additions and decoration during the Roman period. Its symmetrical design reflects its dual dedication, with separate areas associated with the two gods.
Return to the cruise and continue sailing toward Edfu.
Temple of Edfu:
Visit the Temple of Edfu, one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient temples. Dedicated to Horus, construction began under Ptolemy III in 237 BC and was completed under Ptolemy XII in 57 BC.
Its monumental pylons, reliefs, inscriptions, and preserved architectural elements provide valuable insight into the religious traditions of Ptolemaic Egypt.
After the visit, return to the cruise and continue sailing toward Luxor.
After breakfast, disembark from the cruise and begin your final day of sightseeing in Luxor.
Karnak Temple Complex:
Explore the Karnak Temple Complex, one of ancient Egypt’s largest religious sites. The complex developed over approximately 2,000 years, with successive rulers adding temples, pylons, obelisks, and other structures.
One of its most famous features is the Great Hypostyle Hall, which contains 134 massive columns decorated with inscriptions and reliefs.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your Luxor sightseeing.
Temple of Queen Hatshepsut:
Continue to the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari on Luxor’s West Bank.
Built during the 15th century BC, the temple is characterized by its three broad terraces rising against the limestone cliffs. Its reliefs include scenes connected with Hatshepsut’s divine birth and her trading expedition to Punt.
Valley of the Kings:
Explore the Valley of the Kings, the royal necropolis used by New Kingdom rulers. The valley contains more than 60 known tombs, including those associated with Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Seti I.
The decorated burial chambers contain religious texts, hieroglyphic inscriptions, and scenes representing the ancient Egyptian conception of the afterlife.
Colossi of Memnon:
Finish your Luxor sightseeing at the Colossi of Memnon, two quartzite sandstone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. Each statue stands approximately 18 meters high and once guarded the entrance to his mortuary temple.
After completing the tour, travel by private vehicle back to Hurghada, concluding your journey.
