Mohamed Ali Mosque amazingly decorates the Cairo Citadel. The Alabaster Mosque, as it’s known, was ordered by Mohammed Ali Pasha and designed by the brilliant architect Youssuf Bushnak in 1830 AD. The site is one of the finest Islamic symbols, which displays the brilliance of Ottoman architecture.

Sultan Hassan Mosque and Madrassa:

The Mosque of Sultan Hassan is one of the most famous Islamic monuments in the world. Built between 1355 and 1363 AD by Sultan Hassan, the mosque is known for its impressive size, 36 meters high and 150 meters long. It’s also considered one of the most symmetrical and architecturally refined buildings in Islamic Cairo.

 

Al Rifa'i Mosque:

Another Islamic treasure in the heart of Cairo is Al-Rifai Mosque. Commissioned in 1869 by Kushiar Hanem, the mother of Khedive Ismail, it was built as a royal mausoleum. Designed by architect Hussein Fahmy Pasha, the mosque houses the tombs of several members of Egypt’s royal family.
