Giza Pyramids Complex:

The magnificent Giza Pyramids Complex is home to some of the most iconic monuments of ancient Egypt. Highlights include the three great pyramids of Khufu, Khafre (Chephren), and Menkaure, the legendary Great Sphinx, the sacred Valley Temple, and numerous other treasures from the Old Kingdom.

The Great Pyramid of Khufu:

A testament to the power of Egypt’s Fourth Dynasty, the Great Pyramid of Khufu was constructed as a royal tomb for Pharaoh Khufu (2609–2584 BC). Standing originally at 146 meters, it is the only surviving wonder of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and remains an awe-inspiring symbol of ancient engineering brilliance.

The Great Sphinx:

The Great Sphinx of Giza is one of the most recognizable monuments in Egypt. Believed to represent the powerful facial features of Pharaoh Khafre (Chephren) on a lion’s body, it symbolizes strength, wisdom, and royal protection. It is also considered the largest monolithic statue ever carved in history.

The Valley Temple:

Located near the Pyramid of Khafre, the Valley Temple was used for purification and mummification rituals during the Fourth Dynasty. It is a remarkable example of ancient Egyptian funerary architecture, symbolizing the transition from life to the afterlife.

After a delicious lunch at a quality local restaurant, we’ll continue your journey to explore:

Saqqara Step Pyramid:

The Saqqara Step Pyramid marked the beginning of pyramid construction in Egypt. Built between 2670–2650 BC for Pharaoh Djoser of the Third Dynasty.

This unique structure was designed with six ascending steps and stands at a height of 63 meters. It is regarded as the world’s earliest large-scale stone structure and houses the tomb of the king.

Memphis City:

Founded by King Narmer, Memphis was the first capital of unified Egypt and a major center for religion, politics, and trade. This ancient city laid the foundation for over 5,000 years of Egyptian civilization, symbolizing the unity and cultural richness of early dynastic Egypt.

Upon arrival, you'll meet one of our expert local guides and begin your exploration of Aswan’s top attractions:

The High Dam:

Constructed between 1960 and 1970 AD at the direction of President Gamal Abdel Nasser, the Aswan High Dam is a modern engineering marvel. It plays a critical role in Egypt’s economy and agriculture by controlling the flow of the Nile River, generating electricity, and protecting Aswan’s monuments from flooding.

The Unfinished Obelisk:

This colossal monument, dating back to the reign of Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC), lies partially carved in Aswan’s granite quarries. Intended to be the largest obelisk ever built, it was abandoned when a crack appeared during the carving process. Today, it provides rare insight into ancient Egyptian stone-working techniques.

Philae Temple:

The majestic Philae Temple was established during the reign of King Ptolemy II in 280 BC. This monument is a valuable piece of art, featuring the influential myth of Isis and Osiris. In 1960, the temple was dismantled and transported to the nearby island of Agilkia, where it was restored.

Constructed by multiple pharaohs, this remarkable limestone structure is known for its symmetrical layout and grand Avenue of Sphinxes, which connects the entrance gate to the Great Court.

The temple was a key site for religious rituals, particularly the Opet Festival celebrating the divine link between the king and the gods.

Set against the backdrop of the Theban Mountains, the site features not only the grand temple but also a range of administrative buildings, workshops, royal residences, and priests’ quarters. It served as both a religious center dedicated to the god Amun and a functioning royal complex.
