Day 2: Explore the Wonders of Giza – Fly to Aswan

Wake up to a fabulous breakfast and start a full day to the best ancient landmarks in Giza, escorted by your personal guide to visit:

Giza Pyramids Complex:

The incredible complex of Giza Pyramids includes plenty of sightseeing on display; the three known pyramids of Khufu, Chephren and Menkaure, the heavenly Sphinx, the Valley Temple and so much more of the Old Kingdom’s treasures.

The Great Pyramid of Khufu:

The powerful effect of the fourth dynasty on the Egyptian civilization can be seen by the iconic Great Pyramid of Giza. This exquisite marvel came into existence to be the royal tomb of Pharaoh Khufu (2609-2584 BC) and it’s known that this colossal monument still stands as the only surviving symbol of the ancient world wonders at a height of 146 meters.

The Great Sphinx:

Giza Sphinx is one of the most recognizable symbols of ancient Egyptian history, which portrayed a fabulous image to the brilliance and glory of Pharaoh Chephren (2558-2532 BC). It’s the largest man-made monumental statue ever made in history, which represents for the powerful facial features of the pharaoh on a massive lion’s body.

The Valley Temple:

The Valley Temple, which belongs to the reign of King Chefren, is a majestic symbol of immortality. This enchanting site is the home to countless purification and mummification processes and funerary ceremonies during the 4th dynasty reign.

Saqqara Step Pyramid:

Saqqara was the kick-off point of the Pyramids Construction Age in Egypt, when it was established between 2670-2650 BC to honor the brilliance of Pharaoh Djoser, who ruled the country during the era of the third dynasty. This unfamiliar pyramid, which hosts the pharaoh’s mummy, was planned to have six steps to the heaven at a height of 63 meters.

Memphis City:

The epic Memphis represents the country’s unification, when the first steps to a glorious 5000-year-old civilization were taken. This divine city, which Narmar built, was the first capital of Egypt in history and a prominent center of religion and trade.

At the end of the day, we will transport you to Cairo Airport for a domestic flight to Aswan, where our guide will drive you to our 5-star hotel to enjoy a wonderful night's sleep in Aswan.

Day 3: Experience the Best of Aswan Sights

Have your breakfast at the hotel, then your private guide will accompany you to start your tour by visiting:

Philae Temple:

The majestic Philae Temple was established during the reign of King Ptolemy II in 280 BC. This monument is a valuable piece of art, featuring the influential myth of Isis and Osiris. In 1960, the temple was dismantled and transported to the nearby island of Agilkia, where it was restored.

The Unfinished Obelisk:

The Unfinished Obelisk is a structure of extraordinary dimensions, which rises towards the sky with impressive majesty. It dates back to the reign of Queen Hatshepsut (1508-1458 BC), who ruled Egypt during the 18th Dynasty. During processing, a crack developed in the stone, making the monument unstable then it became abandoned.

The High Dam:

The Aswan High Dam is an enormous project that was built between 1960 and 1970 AD upon the request of President Gamal Abd El-Nasser. The Colossi of Memnon are two giant limestone statues depicting the pharaoh Amenhotep III sitting on the throne. Each statue, which are located in the Theban necropolis on the western bank of the Nile River, measures approximately 18 meters high.

Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque:

The first ever Islamic monument to be built across the lands of Africa is Amr Ibn Alaas Mosque, which came into existence in 642 AD in the central heart of the great capital of Egypt, Fustat. This extraordinary mosque is able to display the majestic architectural features from different Islamic reigns, which made it one of the larges and globally known landmarks in the Islamic world.

Ben Ezra Synagogue:

Ben Ezra is the oldest Jewish monuments in Egypt, which the Jews considered the main place for all their celebrations and prayers. The synagogue was named after Abraham Ibn Ezra who was a Jewish religious scholar and philosopher. It's thought that it was established in the same place where Baby Moses was found.

The Hanging Church:

The Qaitbay Citadel:

The Citadel of Qaitbay was built by Sultan Al-Ashraf Abu Al-Nasr Qaitbay in 1477 AD as a defensive fortress against the Ottomans, on what is believed to be the site of the ancient lighthouse of Alexandria , one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

The Pompey's Pillar:

Pompey’s Pillar is a massive Roman column established on the debris of the original city of Rhakotis, which Alexandria was built above. It's a tapered column 27 meters in height and a base of 2.7 meters. This incredible monument was made of Aswan high- quality reddish granite and it’s the sole monument of Alexandria that still stands in its original place until now.

Catacombs of Kom El-Shoqafa:

The Kom Al-Shuqafa tombs are thought to have originally belonged to a single wealthy Roman family who began using them for burials around the 2nd century AD. However, the complex was significantly expanded and was used until the 4th century AD.

Alexandria Library:

Alexandria Library, the cultural center on the Mediterranean Coast is the Alexandria Library. The old Library of Alexandria was erected by the successors of Alexander the Great more than 2000 years ago and the idea of reviving it began in 1974 by Alexandria University until it was finished in 2002.
